Background to EDBS
East Durham Business Services (EDBS) is a business support organisation providing investment and development for businesses in East Durham.
The Brief
To promote a charity dinner with a difference.
The Solution
A perception change targeting commercial rather than community. In appealing to a business audience, we decided that the words 'charity' and 'community' did not light the fire of the target market and we excluded them from use anywhere in the promotion. The theme, 'Give time, watch growth', provided an eye-catching implication that, by investing a little time, they could see growth as a result. The grass theme continued throughout the the brochure and was extended to the invitations, the wine labels and the backdrop of presentations at the event. A large number of donations were made both during the event and afterwards.
